Karuna has a rich knowledge of hand-woven textiles in industry and as a freelance design, always being drawn to traditional techniques, quality natural materials and vibrant colour combinations.
"I love anything that involves colour, texture and pattern; but I’m most passionate about weaving – the ancient process of interlacing threads to make cloth. My work focuses on traditional techniques, natural materials and vibrant colour combinations.
I'm inspired by my beautiful surroundings, experiences and research findings. I love the connection that weaving gives me - to an ancient tradition and to this land which supplies the beautiful fibres I can weave into cloth.
As well as making handwoven scarves and accessories, I teach regular weaving workshops and have developed a range of portable looms and kits in the hope that others might be inspired to try weaving."
