Having trouble dealing with all the produce pouring in from your home garden or orchard?

Preserving is one of the oldest and most straight forward ways to store fruit and vegetables for months while retaining their colour and enhancing the flavour.  Yummo!

In this one day workshop you can bring some of your produce, such as apples, pears, plums, peaches, as well as vegetables including beetroot, tomatoes, zucchini, peppers, onions, and we will magically turn them into rows of glistening jars of beautiful preserves.

You will learn how to make a batch each of preserved fruit, and one type of pickle.

So start collecting preserving jars of varying sizes. Large Agee type jars for fruit preserving, with Agee or similar screw top lids and seals and smaller 150 - 300 ml jars for pickles, with lids.  Agee type cellophane seals with rubber bands will also be available on the day.

We will also spend a few moments making labels, since it’s great to decorate our jars and important that we date when we made our different batches.  These also make great gifts, so start thinking about who you’d like to give some of your delicious preserves to!

A separate materials list of what to bring will be sent prior to the workshop commencing.
